About a year ago, I fell on hard times.

I lost my job of nine years, and with it, any sense of financial security. No longer able to afford my rent, I was forced to move, downsizing to a smaller apartment. My previous apartment had been fully furnished, meaning that I had no furniture to my name. Now, strapped for cash and forced to furnish an entirely new home, I felt desperate. 

The search for new furniture was hard. I contacted several donation drives in my area. Fortunately, I found a donation drive within my area that carried used furniture. I managed to wrangle together a couch, a table and a mattress from three different drives.

At first, I was worried – what if all this used stuff was functionally useless? But everything I got from not only did the job, it provided a whole lot of comfort at a time when I cherished any help I could get. 

Thankfully, I am now back on my feet. But I will never forget finding Mark’s. It made things just a little bit easier. And when times are tough, don’t we all deserve to have life made just a little easier?
