Ryan’s Blog

About a year ago, I fell on hard times.

I lost my job of nine years, and with it, any sense of financial security. No longer able to afford my rent, I was forced to move, downsizing to a smaller apartment. My previous apartment had been fully furnished, meaning that I had no furniture to my name. Now, strapped for cash and forced to furnish an entirely new home, I felt desperate.

Fortunately, an angel arrived, in the form of Mark’s Northeastern Furniture Foundation. Through Mark’s, I got a couch, a table, and a new mattress, all for free! At first I was worried – what if all this used stuff was functionally useless? But everything I got from Mark’s not only did the job, it provided a whole lot of comfort at a time when I cherished any help I could get.

Thankfully, I am now back on my feet. But I will never forget the support I got from Mark’s. It made things just a little bit easier. And when times are tough, don’t we all deserve to have life made just a little easier?
